What your child will understand

What AI is (and isn't)

Explain in their own words that AI learns patterns from examples.

Data and sorting

Sort pictures and objects into groups — the way a classifier works.

Why AI makes mistakes

Spot a silly AI mistake and explain what data was missing.

Online safety superpowers

Know what's private, what's a trick and who to tell.

What they'll make

  • “Teach the robot” sorting game
  • A picture-pattern detective book
  • Their first trained model with a child-safe tool
  • A family online-safety poster

Projects are kept in a portfolio your child can explain at the dinner table.

Explorer FAQs

My child is only 8. Is this too advanced?

No. Explorer is mostly unplugged and game-based, with very little screen time. We teach ideas, not jargon.

Do they need a laptop?

A laptop or tablet with a camera helps for online sessions. Many activities use paper, cards and household objects.

Will they use ChatGPT?

No. Many AI tools set minimum ages. Explorer uses child-safe, mentor-led demos and tools designed for children.
